The Céilí of the Valley Society sponsors the Second Friday Céilí– a live music and dance event for interested parties of all ages, held the second Friday of each month. A variety of Irish musicians and dance callers rotate throughout the Céilí season, exposing the community to a wide selection of traditional Irish musical instruments and sounds as well as Céilí and set dances.
Some of the most popular dances include: Walls of Limerick, Siege of Ennis, Haymakers Jig, Harvest Time Jig, Clare Lancers, Caledonian and more!
From 7 to 8 PM we offer a free “class” where the dances are “walked” through first then “called” as they are learned, and as the night progresses. Basic foot steps are taught at the beginning of the Céilí, so don’t be intimidated if you have never Céilí danced before!
Admission to the ceili, including a complimentary dance lesson for the first hour, is $10 for general admission, $8 for members, $5 for students (with current valid student id) and $30 max. for family.
All ages welcome! Great family event!
